Surfing the ironing board

This morning’s question is “why”. As I try to start the day, I look around and that’s the only thing I can say without pulling my hair out and running away.

Why: Do eggs HAVE to be smashed in a baby’s/toddler’s hair?

Why: Does the dog think she has child status and insist on being at my feet at all times?

Why: Does the house stink?

Why: Doesn’t the laundry EVER look like it’s getting done?

Why: Do the kids tear the house apart, room-by-room before leaving for school?

Why: Do I have 14 (literally) projects to get completed before tomorrow?

Why: Can’t Luke-Xavier sit in his highchair peacefully instead of acting like a caged and crazed animal?

Why: Does Gabi think that everything in the house belongs to her?

Why: Didn’t the dishes get washed last night?

Why: Do I have a million/zillion socks spread across my living room without mates?

Why: Didn’t the kids take ALL the trash down to the road for the “Sanitary Disposal Specialist” to pick up?

Why: Do my older kids, who are home for Christmas break, think they are guests and don’t have to pitch in?

Why: Do the little ones screech like children left alone in the wild, when I sit down at the computer?

Why: Is it so hard to get through to the Dr.?

Why: Can’t I have a day with 150 hours in it?

Have a good day~

Oh my… I feel the same way today… and I don’t have a sceaming baby or a million socks. GOOD LUCK! I’ll say a prayer for you!

Oooh my Dear Jennie! I remember those days so vividly and you expess them so colorfully that I am immediately transported to that very small house in the not-so-distant past where all of those things took place for me! Minus,of course, the vacationing older children which I imagine can be it’s own challenge! PRI that’s short for “praying immediately” for all to calm down and become more fluid for you! Have Teari make a quick Quiche for dinner and you go take a long hot bath and bar the door! Love Mom

My favorite “my older kids, who are home on Christmas break, think that they are quest so they don’t have to pinch in”. Be sure to remind them WHO is sending them off for schooling. LOVE your “why’s”. Something to think about. Humm-m-m!

And, I might add, within 10 minutes of getting out of bed…or 10 minutes after they get off the bus in the afternoon…
    LOVE it! You amaze me!

So This is a POpular Blog!!!
YES i was doing this Yesterday… Tues.
i needed to meet DH for a Treat at the Mall with the kiddos… everytime i thought i could leave… NO!!! something was being ripped apart, Thrown Everywhere or the children were attempting to take eachother out. Caitlyn had Random Scratches across her Collar bone… OK?… DH called to say he was off work early :-D and i SCREAMED… and hung up. He got the message… Than after i cried and camled down. Picked up Everything and i let him know we were on the road. MY GOD, SEriously, PLEASE, NO 150hr days, i’d RUN…. THey’d follow me tho. And i don’t have a dog.
SEE THis is The BEST JOB EVER. Look at these Beauties.. Many folks at the Mall Commented ” Oh They’re so sweet, Beautiful, Smart, Cute, Polite.. Ha Ha Ha, Rewind about two hours… They’d take them away from me, Because of my bad Behavior! IRONIC.
That’s where Grace comes in, we pray… no she’s not my nanny or house keeper~ LOL ;-)
PEACE BE WITH YOU and me

After reading Cami’s I just wanted to comment that I get the comments alot too, “Oh she’s so happy and calm, how do you do it?” “Wow, she’s so well behaved” And I am thinking, “you obviously weren’t in the parking lot watching me wrestle with my flailing, screaming child to get her into the shopping cart.” And, I know I have said this before, but I sware people have amnesia or senility when it comes to kids. Some act as though they have never seen or heard a child behave in a negative or disruptive way. And they’ll look at you like you in someway have caused them to be this way and are shocked you aren’t doing anything about it. What do they expect, a muzzle, knock the kid out?! I don’t think I will ever be that way. I feel for myself and all those parents who have to be on display when their kids decide to misbehave in public. GIVE US A BREAK PEOPLE!!! Be glad we aren’t degrading or abusing our kids, but trying to deal with the situation as calmly and sanely as possible. And Guess what!? Sometimes, no matter what you do, NOTHING works. Sometimes the child is just going to scream, cry and flail, and there are times when we can’t just up and leave the store because the reason you are there is necessary and the errand needs to be done. So lighten up and be a little understanding. Or, we could always hand the children over to you since you seem to know how to fix them and the situation. :)
