Thank you to all of you for coming to the site and for all the questions and comments you’ve been leaving. I really appreciate the interaction. If you are lovin’ the site and lovin’ the show I want to ask that you do me a favor by doing 2 things.

First off, if you haven’t subscribed to the show, please go to the left of this page on the sidebar and click the subscribe button. This means that the shows will show up in your iTunes library each week when I release them. It’s free and easy!

The second request is just as easy-If you could take a minute and go to the iTunes store, click on the podcast section (in the menu on the left) and then type either “Jen Lang” or “Mommy of Many” into the search bar, the podcast will come up and it will give you the option to leave a review. These reviews let iTunes know that I have some lovin’ listeners out there and are important for the shows ratings. Please take a minute to leave a review and let the iTunes world know that you love Mommy of Many.

Thanks again! You are all making this venture so much fun. I hope to keep it going for a long, long time!

Have a great day~

*UPDATE* I’ve received feedback this morning that the subscription button (to the left) may have some problems. I just tried it and it brought me right to my iTunes. I’m thinking it could be a MAC vs. PC thing. However, it’s still quick and easy to go straight into your iTunes, choose “iTunes store” and then “podcasts” and then type in either “Jen Lang” or “Mommy of Many” to find the show. You can choose to subscribe right there. It’s free!

Thanks!

Looking For a Little Guidance

For a few days now, I’ve been trying to make a solid decision on whether or not to have JJ come home for Easter. Here’s a list of what’s going through my head;

ON THE ONE SIDE:
Clay leaves for his deployment the day BEFORE JJ can come home. So they will miss each other.
It’s VERY pricey to get him here. Actually, the getting out here isn’t so bad. It’s the getting him back to school that’s the killer.
He will be home for the summer 2 months later.
He can stay with Kateri for Easter.
Kateri is staying at school for Easter.
He says it would be ok with him if he went to stay with Kateri.

ON THE FLIP SIDE:
He won’t be home again for 2 months.
It’s Easter! We should be together.
I miss him.
He’s my son. I should do whatever it takes to bring him home.
He says that his first choice would be to come home.

Clay and I still need to talk about it and I still need to search the internet (again and again) for a better ticket. My “Momminess” is having a tough time with this one. It’s hard to put one person in the family before everyone else. BUT we’re a family and families take sacrifice. But, on a logical level, the $ that it would take to get him out here could be put towards the different camps and trips we’d like to be able to give to all of the children during the summer, while Clay is gone. It’s just a BIG decision for me. Because he’s not yet college age, I feel a deeper draw to get him home EVERY time he’s off. However, he’s become very understanding and knows that we are all working hard to make the education that he’s getting, possible for him.

A few, well said, prayers might make the issue a little clearer.

What do you think?

Good night~

43 Days

American Flag

This morning I was thinking about all the things that need to get done before Clay leaves. This led me to think of how much time we had and I did fuzzy-math and realized that we were near the 45 day mark. Then I looked at the calendar and counted and realized that we’d already passed that point! We’ve made a list of all the projects and paperwork items that need to get done to make life easier while he’s gone. Some of the items aren’t even a matter of making life easier, but are shear necessity, like a Power of Attorney and filling out all the applications for the kids’ passports. Too much! We’re starting to feel the pressure and are trying to stay committed to having him leave on a good note and not in a frenzied exit of anger. ~Sigh~

It was beautiful in San Diego for part of the weekend, so we took advantage of it and had a BBQ in the back yard with friends.

Clay also spent part of the day creating a gravel box (as apposed to a sand box) that the kiddos will have, undoubted, hours of fun playing in. The wood came from picnic benches that the kids’ school was getting rid of. Way to recycle!

The kids started using it before it was done. They decided it would make a safe place for their “pets”.

I hope you each have a great day~

Mommy of Many Show #15: Appreciation

February 3, 2008

You have, most likely, read my blog from a few days ago, when I attended the funeral of the 3rd grader from my children’s school. But, because I received a great response to that post I felt compelled to TALK about what I thought about and how it all made me feel. So, this show is an extension of that post.

Thank you for listening and for visiting MommyofMany.com. I look forward to your comments and questions. You can email me at; Jen@MommyofMany.com.

Good night~

Look What I Found…………..

February 2, 2008

For several years, I’ve been a bit obsessed with making sure I don’t have bad breath. I seriously get stressed over it and won’t talk if I think I MIGHT have bad breath. So, I am a big gum chewer. I carry packs in my purse, almost all the time. We have packs of gum in a jar on the kitchen counter and Clay carries gum in his pocket and in his truck. I buy multipacks at Costco, just to make sure we don’t run out.

Well, it seems that one of my children is either also worried about his breath, or worried that there may be a shortage of gum at some point. THIS is what I found under Max’s bed today when I was looking for a missing shoe;

Gum, anyone?

Good night~
