Hurry Up and Wait!

April 8, 2008

You may notice the absence of the snazzy banner that was to the left of the show, yesterday. Well, it’s because we decided to play a game I affectionately call, “hurry up and wait”. In all my years of being a military spouse, I’ve been a part of this game on numerous occasions. This time I got to play it with our sponsor. But, the important thing to remember is that there is, in fact, a sponsor!

So, now that I’ve gotten you all excited about the product line and the sponsor itself and you’ve practiced using your clicking fingers, I want you to remember that we’re going to do it all again, starting in May. That’s right, this was just our warm up. So be sure to keep that clicking finger in good shape, exercise it regularly and bring it back here, ready for rapid-fire clicking, starting May first. But for-goodness-sake don’t wait until then to come back!

Keep coming for daily blog and weekly podcast, because you know..

I’ll be here, Doing the Dance of the Children~

Turning Two-Here We Go~

April 5, 2008

Well, I’m finally able to sit down and write without being interrupted. On at least 2 occasions today I sat down with great ideas and trains of thought, only to be interrupted by a phone, a yelling child or an almost-two-year-old who thinks he can change his own diaper. After I cleaned up the floor, the toilet and him, I had to tell him what a good, big boy he was to try to use the potty and to change his diaper. On to potty-training it is.

Yep, Luke-Xavier will be 2 this weekend and I’ve really noticed some changes in him over the last couple of weeks. He’s speaking more clearly and is able to share his thoughts and feelings. He’s becoming more independent and trying to keep up with the bigger kids even more than he has before. Surprisingly, he’s even (finally) willing to be weened (at least for today).

(my independent, little guy, after “changing” himself and then deciding he wanted to get on the swing. He almost made it before I showed up with clothes.)

So, my funny thoughts and witty ideas will have to wait for another day. But boring, busy or funny, I’m here Doing the Dance of the Children.

Good night~

It’s Been Busy Around Here

April 3, 2008

Well, I’m over that “funny” feeling and it’s back to the reality and business of each day. I’ve been doing such exciting things as; 5 loads of laundry in a day (Mommy Olympics better watch out, because I am in training!), getting everyone out the door at 7 am to make up for the carpool that couldn’t show up, writing the budget, creating yummy dishes from “nothing” and on and on. You know the routine.

So, to break up the monotony of our “boring and hum drum” life, Max decided that yesterday he would practice for the Big League by throwing anything he could get his hands on. This included; a rock thrown at/on Luke-Xavier’s foot and a hair brush thrown with great precision and force at Tristan’s nose. Oh it was a bloody scene! It ended with poor Tristan throwing up and being sent to bed. I was expecting him to wake up with 2 black eyes and a visibly broken nose, but this morning there was just swelling and a very slight shade of purple.

I’ve decided that after only 3 weeks of deployment, that I am lonely. Geesh! How exactly does one become lonely in a house full of people? The funny part is that when Clay is home, we are both so busy going in separate directions and completing different tasks (not to mention crazy flight schedules), that it’s not like we get to sit and visit or watch a movie or talk at length about our days. But I suppose it’s just having someone who is physically there on a daily basis. Well, I’ll probably stay lonely, but it won’t change how busy I am.

Good night~
