Jen! I have a 12 yr. old a lot like your Gabi. You may want to buckle your seatbelt for the ride. Caleb told me that he thought a girl at church was pretty and I wanted to find out what he looked for in a girl, so I asked him what it was that made her pretty. He said," . . . ummmm, make-up?" A couple of months before that he wanted to know if vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat? He's always willing to rat me out to Corey when I buy us a carton of Hagen Dasz and tell him it's our secret! Hah. One of my fave comments though, came from our oldest, Connor, who wanted me to try the best thing in the world since sliced bread (I have forgotten what it was), "Mom," he said, "You HAVE to go off your diet for-like- just 5 minutes and try this!" "Honey," I said, "I'm not on a diet right now." To which he replied, "Yeah, I kinda noticed." hmph.

Speaking of public restrooms... like many women, I prefer to "hover" instead of sitting on a public toilet seat. As I was hovering in Barnes & Noble with the boys in the bigger stall, Tate (4 yrs old) walked over to the back of the toilet and asked, "Mom, why do you pee out of your bottom?" Fortunately, no one else was there to here that & my subsequent explanation of how God made men & women different. Fun, fun!

At least she made those comments in the privacy of your home...my children routinely say things like that in PUBLIC...and other, more embarrassing things (like some of the comments in the airport restrooms in Helena, MT....)

That's hilarious! I love the things that our children say. They make for great stories later on.
