How time flies!!!!  Twenty years ago, today, I was able to claim the title of “Mommy” for the first time.  I can not believe how fast it all seems to have gone!  I also would have keeled over, dead if you would have tried to tell me, on that day, that I would eventually have 9 kiddos and be telling the world about it!

I couldn’t be prouder of the wonderful, young woman that Kateri has become.  I will not embarrass her, here, by listing her accomplishments or gushing over her abilities.  But know that I am very proud and pleased and that I am hoping that the next 20 years of being “Mommy” are as fulfilling and quick :-) as the last 20!

Happy Birthday Kateri!

At 5:30 this morning I sent my little” Curly Girly” a text to say,” I love you and Happy Birthday” and I lay there in bed contemplating that sweet baby face I looked on for the first time as I stood next to you in the delivery room that short twenty years ago.
I was only thirty eight with my own five year old at home! I can’t describe the emotions! I remember the doctor handing the tiny 5lb bundle to me because they had numbed you from the neck down for your c-section (Teari had presented a foot durring transition!).Amazing ,unbelievable, beautiful, my grand baby !
That was it, I was in love ,we made eye contact and we have been connected at the heart ever since!
Thank you Jennie! The best gift ever! And a million thanks for the other 9 also! Yes I said nine, I love that one in Heaven too! Kisses Mom

I remember when you and Kateri came home. I was almost 12 and was so excited to be an aunt. Now I am almost 32 and have a child of my own. I remember thinking how grown up you were and so much older than me. I definitely know now that, at 17, that was quite a lot on your plate. But look at your beautiful and amazing daughter and the 8 other wonderful human beings you are raising! It’s true we don’t know what the future holds. But I think the journey from then to now has been so worth it! I love you Jen!
