Some Grocery Math Facts
May 3, 2010It’s that time again…”big” grocery shopping. Ugh! I hate it! It takes me 2-3 days at 4 different stores. As I checked off my list and handed over the cash I decided to do a little dividing. First of all, I have an $800 budget for every 2 weeks. That might sound like a lot of money for groceries. BUT, now take that and figure in 10 people, 7 of which are adults. Now, divide that by 15 days. And finally, divide that number by 3. This does not include the 2 snack times that are included in each day (midmorning and after school). Do you know what that number ends up being?! $1.77! That’s right! I feed each of us for $1.77 a meal and that’s not even figuring the snacks OR that fact that all the cleaning supplies come out of that money!
