It’s getting to be time to do the grocery shopping which means the dinner choices are getting slim and might I even add…boring. I pulled out the only meat, remaining in the freezer, a package of chicken (frankly not sure if it’s thighs or breast pieces because they were frozen solid). I stood in front of the open freezer with that package in my hand and all I could think was, “Chicken…again…great”. I quickly went through the rolodex file of chicken, slow cooker recipes that I keep stored in my brain and all I could come up with was, “BORING!”. So I turned to Google (of course). I typed in, “Slow cooker chicken again”. They didn’t find me funny and ignored the “again”, giving me a list of slow cooker recipes that was several pages long. I chose the BBQ Beer Chicken recipe. It sounded different than what I usually do with chicken, so I was intrigued. And I happen to have a beer in fridge…perfect! Hmmm…except I have no BBQ Sauce. I didn’t let that stop me!
I took out ketchup, spicy mustard, 3 crushed cloves of garlic, Mr Yoshidas and brown sugar. I mixed them all together, put it over the chicken, added the beer (or at least the 8oz that the recipe called for…can’t say what happened to the other 4oz) and called it dinner!
The house smells SO yummy!
Doing the Dance of the Children and eating chicken…again~
